Recently i got to experience SuperNova, an outdoor, multisensory storytelling installation that mixes lights and auditory experience- Guided by Nova, an avatar-like narrator, they have thematic zones, such as KontraDiksi , PerangBendera, AksaraAsa, HingarBingar - with each narrating a flow of story tied to memory, hope, self-reflection, and presence. Tthe whole experience felt personal.
The experience started with KontraDiksi (pronounced: kohn-trah-deek-see; Indonesian word that means “Contradiction”), where flickering lights mirrored how memories can come and go. It was a quiet, reflective space. Then came PerangBendera (pronounced: peh-rung-ben-deh-rah; Indonesian phrase meaning “Battle of the Flags”), symbolizing life’s challenges, with tall beams of light standing like barriers and intense sounds.
HingarBingar (pronounced: hing-ahr-bing-ahr; Indonesian phrase meaning “Loud Noise” or “Commotion”) followed, blending wild lights and layered sounds that somehow felt calming—a reminder to find peace in chaos.
Finally, AksaraAsa (pronounced: ahk-sah-rah-ah-sah; Indonesian phrase meaning “Script of Hope”), brought a sense of hope, with soft lights and open spaces suggesting fresh starts and possibilities.
Appreciation to the art director and user experience writer to this thoughtful experience - well done 🌻
