Mobile World Capital Barcelona - the biggest technology conference in the world ! there's a lot to be excited about and following is my quick wrap up summary for XR Designer based on my observation :
Ai is definitely one of the star theme of the year! Artist like Refik Anadol has been famous for his usage of AI x data in art creation , now imagine XR and AI for immersive experiences, making them smarter and more interactive. One of the experience that i'm in love with is Wol ,mixed reality experience that combine AI in world character .. i hope someday i will be able to create something it . Try it with Quest 3and tell me you didnt leave the experience with full heart.
Another worth mention is the usage of AI's integration into E-Health applications, both within and outside of XR, is nothing short of wow! I read an insights from Design Matter 2024 that suggest a growing trend towards embracing slower, more mindful lifestyles as individuals strive for a healthier work-life balance. This shift is especially pushed by Gen Z, who are silent fighter towards challenging norms and advocating for policies that prioritize mental health and well-being. This generational shift could be a great opportunity for XR Designer, to explore and innovate within the health sector. Whether it's creating tools to support mental health, enhancing patient care through immersive experiences, or exploring new ways to educate and engage on health topics, the intersection of XR, AI, and health is worth exploring !
The design and usability of Smart Glasses User Interfaces (UI) are becoming more refined. As these devices grows, we're seeing a clearer vision of how they'll integrate into our daily lives. The advancements in UI design are making Smart Glasses more intuitive and user-friendly, i think this opens a way to adoption in wearables technology.
There's a growing preference for multiplayer Virtual Reality (VR) experiences, highlighting that they are user desire for more social and interactive forms of virtual engagement. Changing solitary to a communal experience, but this is a lottle bit contrary to a comment i received in linkedin by many people, who thinks that they use VR for solitary experience and prefer face to face interaction for multiexperience , nonenthless what we see is there a huge demand for more communal experience that can be experienced together , at the moment the usage of this are more into gaming, but i'm keen to see how this might athing for eduaction experience . For XR Designer this opens a new challenge for designing for interaction, not only to individual user experience , but also how multiple users can coexist, collaborate, and engage within the same virtual environment.
That's a wrap from me ! 💫
